Our brewhouse

Why Goodwood

Goodwood opened in 2012 in a renovated warehouse on East Main — close enough to downtown that office workers walk over after five, far enough that the rent let us buy a real brewhouse instead of a pilot system.

The name is literal: Kentucky wood shows up in our barrel program, and “good wood” is what coopers used to call clean oak. We liked that better than naming ourselves after a dog or a joke only the founders understood.

How we operate

  • Brewed here. No contract brewing. Mash to package happens at 636 E Main.
  • Honest ABVs. What is on the tap list is what is in the glass.
  • Local first. Kentucky accounts get priority before we chase out-of-state vanity distribution.
  • Taproom as HQ. The same people who brew also hear what guests say about the beer — every week.
